„Morgestraich and Chienbäseumzug's Carnival in Basel and surroundings“
The fifth season is in Basel and the surrounding area celebrated a week after Mardi Gras and Carnival. This includes not only the Morgestraich in Basel, but also the unique Chienbäseumzug in Liestal, which can only be described as follows:
Orange flames rise to the starlit sky and turning the old town into a cauldron. Fire trucks building a flaming inferno. High up to the gables and sometimes beyond the blazing flames and plunge the rows of houses in a ghostly light. The highlight of the parade is the drive through the city gate.
Our elaborate program includes:
- Arrival on Saturday, 02/25/2012
- Sunday, 5 pm Departure by shuttle to Liestal visiting the Chienbäseumzugs.
- On Monday at about 2.45 am departure to Basel to Morgestraich
Other Basel-Fasnachtstips
- Monday afternoon, a large carnival procession (Cortège 1) in Basel
- Tuesday a monster Gugge concert takes place in Basel from 8 pm
- Wednesday Fasnachtsumzug (Cortège 3)
